Welcome to my class!

Welcome to my class

I am excited about this year.  Parents, I want us all to have the best year possible.  In order for that to happen, we all need to make a committment.  My committment to your student is to teach him/her to the best of my ability and my committment to you is to keep you informed of your childs progress.  I expect my students to complete assigned tasks, to abide by class rules, and to respect faculty and other students.  I also expect parents to be involved in their childs education.  Check childs progress weekly, communicate concerns, and participate in school/class functions.  If we all do our part, I know we will all have the best year ever.

Events and Announcements

Don't forget OPEN HOUSE is going to be on Sept. 3rd at 6:30pm.  I am looking forward to meeting all the parents.  I will be handing out contact info and schedule of assignments/events for the first term.

Books will be going home this week for covering.  I realize that books are not the always brand new but they are what we have to work with.  Please help us to protect them and keep them usable for the next class.  Remember, plain brown paper bags work well for covers and it gives your student a chance to be creative.

In the News

Clipart of a newspaper; Size=234 pixels wide

Here I might mention a story in the news that pertains to my subject and solicit opinions from the class. Or I might ask a question about material we covered in class, for example:

This week we read a great short story. If you could be any of the characters in this story, which would you be and why?
